Have you seen these amazing balloon flowers? The ones you think must have cost the party host a fortune to have made up? Guess what? You can make them yourself at home and they are dead easy…
Now, you could buy these handy dandy little flower balloon clips online from eBay or Amazon, and wait 3 weeks for shipping, OR you could make your own out of cardboard! Yep, all you need is a piece of sturdy cardboard and a pair of scissors. I suggest either corrugated card board or use an old cereal box.
Just cut a circle from the cardboard (trace around a cup or a small plate if you need to) cut 5 slits equal distances around the circle, poke a hole in the middle and BAM! Homemade balloon flower clips. I do suggest making little horizontal slits at the base of your first cuts to ensure the balloon doesn’t slip out, otherwise you could tape the ends of the balloon down. Then all you need to do is blow up 6 balloons, (5 for around the side and one for the centre) thread them into the clip and you have a beautiful balloon flower!

Thanks Kate – really good idea for quick deco and leaves me more money in the budget for stuff I can’t or don’t want to make myself. I blew the balloons up to half size and taped the ‘flowers’ on to sticks and pushed them into the ground to create a little pathway to the party area!
So glad you found it helpful! Thanks for taking the time to tell me 🙂
